Digital Transformation in Colombia’s Service Sector: Use of Platforms and Virtual Payments Between 2020 and 2022
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of technological managament on commercial strategies within companies in Colombia´s service sector. This study references the years 2020, 2021 and 2022. The research question is: What impact do digital platforms and virtual payment methods have on commercial activities in companies within Colombia´s service sector? The research methodology follows a quatitative approach, based on the “Business Pulse” reports conducted by the Departament Administrative National of Statistics. After analyzing the data, it was found that companies in the service sector made greater use of e-commerce and digital payment methods during the pandemic. However, as lockdown restrictions eased and businesses reopened for in – person services, the use of these tools significantly descreased
