Scientific pedagogy in Maria Montessori
Abstract
This article reports the documentary research on The Notion of Pedagogy in the Maria Montessori´s work (1870-1952), developed as an undergraduate thesis for the Master of Education At Universidad Santo Tomas de Aquino, between the years 2010-2011 . It shows the influence of the thought and work of Montessori in the field of education in the context of Western society, which helped to draw lines of educational policy in the twentieth century, with effects in Colombia, England, France, Italy, India, Spain, USA, Argentina and Chile, among other countries. To achieve this, the first woman doctor in Italy, identified the educational thinking of the time, along with input from other related disciplines such as biology, medicine, psychiatry, anthropology teaching purposes, psychology, philosophy, based on experimental research and theoretical studies. It gave rise to the .children.s homes. in Rome in 1907, her contributions show the need for social and political reform in classroom teaching practices.
